FAQ
Q. I've
never written a play before. Can I participate?
A. YES! Anyone at all can submit a play to be considered for the
project.
Q. I
am an award-winning playwright whose plays are performed all over
the country. Can I participate?
A. YES! Anyone at all can submit a play to be considered for the
project.
Q. I
have already written a play that fits your theme. Can I submit that
script?
A. Sorry. All submissions need to have their genesis in the source
material. We don't need to necessarily be able to pinpoint exactly
what part of the material inspired you, as long as you know. (We'll
probably ask you at some point anyhow, just out of curiosity.)
Q. I'm
an actor. Can I audition for the show?
A. Sure. Check our website in the future for our open casting notice.
Q. How
many characters should I have in my script?
A. As many as you need.
Q. Are
the scripts ever any good?
A. They sure are! Several submissions to our first Variations Project
have gone on to have productions and professional readings at theaters
in New York and around the country.
Q. Who
picks the plays?
A. Run of the Mill company members read all submissions and select
the plays.
Q. What
if I have other questions?
A. All other questions (as well as submissions) can be forwarded
to variationsproject@gmail.com.
